Sindhu Murthy and her friends smiling for a photo after what she describes as a thrilling surf session. Actor-director Sindhu Murthy recently decided to tap into her adventurous side by enrolling in surfing lessons at a popular center on the Karavali coast as a special treat for herself. Despite not being a strong swimmer, Sindhu didn't want to pass up the opportunity to try something new. "I first learned about surfing from a friend seven years ago. While he has turned pro in the sport, I took my time before signing up for the course. Finally, I went with a group of friends to a surfing school in Malpe and completed a three-day beginner's program. By the end, I was able to confidently ride the waves standing upright. It made me realize how quickly our bodies adapt to fresh experiences. Isn't that incredible?" says Sindhu, a self-professed explorer and thrill-seeker. 'Youths are generating employment opportunities along our coastline' During her visit, Sindhu observed how surfing has cultivated a distinctive community along the coast. "While Bengaluru has always been renowned as a job center, I was thrilled to witness how young individuals here are establishing careers as surfing instructors, trainers, social media professionals, and surf school owners. It's impressive how they have forged alternative career paths for themselves," notes Sindhu. "Do not pressure yourself or have high expectations when trying something new. Just cherish the experience and roll with it. That's the key to successful learning," advises Sindhu Murthy. 'Always prioritize enjoying yourself when learning something new' Initially hesitant about venturing into deeper waters, Sindhu received reassurances from her instructor that she could always touch the seabed. "He addressed all my concerns over the phone before I arrived in Mangaluru, so I felt completely at ease upon my arrival," she shares. Sindhu also stresses the importance of savoring the learning journey. "Never impose pressure on yourself."Avoid being too hard on yourself or setting high standards when attempting new things. Simply embrace the experience and be flexible. It's not a test, and you don't have to demonstrate anything. This is the key principle of learning," she explains.
